Working as either a personal coach or undertaking specific projects, Russ has over 30 years of experience helping organization’s align their operating activities with their business strategies, develop individual, team and leadership capabilities and manage business risks. Russ is one of the co-authors of COSO’s recently released “Guidance on Monitoring Internal Control Systems” which is aimed at helping organization’s better understand how to make monitoring of controls a more integrated component of their system of internal controls. Russ is also on the development team for ISACA’s soon-to-be-released document, “Monitoring Internal Controls and IT,” a primer for Business Executives, Managers and Auditors on how to advance best practices relating to IT controls and the use of IT solutions to monitor internal controls. Russ has worked with organizations, both public and private, to help them develop sustainable and cost effective approaches to addressing the internal control and similar compliance requirements and integrating those requirements with those driven from other governance, regulatory or risk management drivers.
Russ was with Arthur Andersen for 24 years, serving in both client service and business management roles. He was the Global Managing Partner of Andersen’s 5,000 person Risk Consulting business. His responsibilities included overall business strategy, thought leadership, customer segmentation and major account relationship management. Prior to that Russ had global management responsibility for the Technology Risk Consulting and eBusiness Risk Consulting businesses at Andersen.
Dr. Sridhar Ramamoorti, ACA, CPA/CITP/CFF, CIA, CFE, CFFA, CFSA, CGAP, CGFM, CRP, CICA, FCPA, is currently an Associate Professor of Accounting at Kennesaw State University, in Kennesaw, Georgia, and specializes in corporate governance, risk management, external and internal auditing, internal controls, and forensic accounting.
Dr. Ramamoorti has a unique, blended academic-practitioner background with over 25 years of experience in academia, auditing, and consulting in India, the Middle East and the United States. After finishing his Ph.D. from The Ohio State University, Dr. Ramamoorti served on the accountancy faculty of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Subsequently, he has been a principal in the professional standards group of Arthur Andersen, Sarbanes Oxley Advisor for Ernst & Young’s National Advisory Practices and a Corporate Governance partner with Grant Thornton. A member of the Grant Thornton authoring team on the 2009 COSO Guidance on Monitoring Internal Control Systems, he is on the development team for forthcoming ISACA guidance on Monitoring Internal Control Systems and IT.
A prolific contributor to the research and professional literature in governance, risk, and compliance, Dr. Ramamoorti is author or co-author of over 25 articles in respected academic and practitioner-oriented journals, and nine books and monographs. His work has been translated into Spanish, Japanese, and Chinese. A highly sought-after speaker, Dr. Ramamoorti has made presentations in 12 countries in the last decade or so. A member of the Board of Directors of several non-profit and professional organizations, he is currently President of the Board of Directors of the Information Integrity Coalition, Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Board of Ascend, and Co-Chair of the Institute of Internal Auditors’ (IIA) Global Common Body of Knowledge (CBOK) Study spanning over 100 countries.
Sumit is the Company Operations Leader at Infogix. He joined Infogix in 2004. He supports all company operations. He previously supported the product development group. Before coming to Infogix, Sumit worked for the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, SPSS, Inc., and PWC.
Sumit received a Bachelor of Arts degree in physics and chemistry from Coe College and a Ph.D. in engineering from Brown University.
Michael P. Cangemi CPA, an author and business advisor, is the former President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Etienne Aigner Group, Inc., a leading designer of women’s accessories (Aigner 1991-2004) and President and Chief Executive Officer of Financial Executives International, the professional association for senior-level corporate financial executives (FEI 2007-08).
He currently serves as President of Cangemi Company LLC, which he founded in 1968. Mr. Cangemi is a member of the FASB’s Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Council (FASAC 2007-10), a Senior Advisor to Oversight Systems, and serves on the SOX & GRC Institute Advisory Board, the Pace University Lubin School of Business Advisory Board, and the Rutgers Continuous Audit Advisory Board (since inception).
Michael has had a successful career with a long term significant focus on continuous monitoring. He progressed from auditor to CAE, to CFO, CEO and Board member. He served in numerous ISACA and IIA professional capacities, including International President of ISACA, many years on IIARF BORA and the IIARF Board of Trustees. His experiences as a CAE were published in his second successful book, Managing the Audit Function. The book was featured in the business section of the Sunday New York Times in August 2002 and translated into Chinese in 2005.
In 2007-8 he served as the FEI representative on the Board of COSO, during which the Guidance on Monitoring Internal Control Systems was drafted and issues in January 2009. He was the Editor-in-Chief of the IS Control Journal, in which his regular column, Issues & Comments appeared from 1987 to 2007. His Presidents Page editorial column appeared in Financial Executive magazine 2007 to 2008. In 1991, Mr. Cangemi co-authored Auditing in an EDP Environment.
He is a Certified Public Accountant, and a Certified Information Systems Auditor-Honorary/Retired and member of FEI, AICPA, Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), and the NY Society of CPAs. Mr. Cangemi is a honorary life member and past International President of the IS Audit & Control Association (ISACA). In 2000, The Cangemi Audit & IT Audit Library was established at the University of Mississippi’s National EDP Auditing Archival Center to house his collection of over 250 books on Auditing and EDP Auditing.
Mr. Cangemi recently completed a two year term on the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) - Standards Advisory Council. In 2006 he was awarded the Thomas Johnson Lifetime Achievement Award for contributions to IA by the IIA NY Chapter. In the last few years, he has hosted a number of Audit Managers Symposiums based on his book, and devoted a good portion of his professional research and presentations to expanding the understanding of Continuous Monitoring.
Joe Oringel is a CPA and CIA with twenty years of experience in internal auditing, fraud detection and forensics. He has over ten years of Big 4 external audit, internal audit, and risk advisory experience, serving primarily regulated industries such as Utilities, Pharmaceuticals, and Higher Education. His work for PricewaterhouseCoopers’ national Internal Audit Services practice to update their technology strategy became the catalyst in 2006 for him to co-found Visual Risk IQ with business partner Kim Jones.
Visual Risk IQ helps large, complex organizations take advantage of new technologies for continuous auditing, continuous monitoring, visual reporting and risk-focused data analysis. The firm participates in North Carolina State’s Enterprise Risk Management roundtables and the World Continuous Auditing Symposium at Rutgers University. This academic research, together with their client projects around the country, helps the firm stay at the forefront of using technology, including CCM-T, to achieve efficiency and effectiveness goals in audit and risk management.
Joe graduated Louisiana State University with a BS in Accounting, and earned his MBA degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 2003. He lives in Charlotte with his wife Susie and their three children.
Carolyn is president and co-founder of Audimation Services, Inc., the US distributor of CaseWare IDEA - data analysis software and CaseWare Monitor (formerly SymSure). She owned a public accounting practice from 1990 – 2002, and is a former Regional Technical Director of EDP Auditing for an international accounting firm. Her duties included developing EDP Auditing training courses and consulting with audit teams on developing effective audit tests that made use of data extraction software. She is a frequent speaker on the subject of computer assisted audit techniques, and recruits subject-matter experts to provide training and seminars on IDEA, internal auditing, fraud detection, sampling and continuous controls monitoring.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas Lutheran College, and a Master of Accountancy from the University of Houston.
In June 2001 the Texas Society of CPAs honored her as a CPA Pathfinder. She serves on the Executive Advisory Committee of Texas Lutheran University’s business school. In addition, she is a member of the AICPA, Texas Society of CPAs, Information Systems Audit & Control Association (ISACA), The Institute of Internal Auditors (serving on the Academic Relations Committee), and The Association of Government Accountants. She formerly chaired the Government accounting and auditing committee of the Houston Chapter of TSCPA and is a financial consultant to St. Cuthbert Episcopal Church.
Dr. Pregmon is the co-founder, COO and Managing Director of the Internal Control Institute™ with over 40 years of experience in various business functions. He has participated on both for-profit and not-for-profit boards of directors. His experience focuses on installing effective business control systems, measuring and reporting efficiencies, and providing training in corporate quality, governance, and ethics. He received his BS degree in Business Administration from the Pennsylvania State University, MBA from New York Institute of Technology and Ph.D. from Madison University.
Over the years, he has been an author, consultant, senior corporate executive and adjunct professor in the Graduate School of Business at Nova Southeastern University and at St Petersburg College, both colleges in Florida. Dr. Pregmon has presented professional seminars internationally and training programs at over 65 colleges and universities. He is a former member of the Editorial Review Board of Software Development Magazine, Distribution Management Magazine and a current member of an Advisory Board at the University of Washington.
He is an Advisory Board Member and Technical Expert with the World Business Review and 21st Century television programs hosted by General Alexander M. Haig, Jr. He regularly appears on this TV program which is aired on CNBC, BRAVO, and Asia Television, and also US Airways, Frontier and Jet Blue Airlines in-flight programs. Mike was also awarded and honored as a Paul Harris Fellow, which is Rotary Club International’s award for service to humanity worldwide.
Bobby joined Infogix in 2009 and leads the Product Development Group. Bobby previously served
as the Director of Risk Technology Solutions at Protiviti, Director of Applied Technology at
Blue Cross Blue Shield, Director of Product Development at Lexis Nexis, and Senior Manager,
Software Development at SPSS. Bobby has a Bachelor of Arts degree in computer science and physics
from Coe College, a Master of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin, and an MBA from
Kellogg School of Management.
Pradeep Bhandari is the Lead IT Controls Analyst for The Huntington National Bank, which he joined in 2003. He is Huntington’s key IT programmer on reconcilement systems and automated information controls. He manages the life cycle of a number of third party software products. Pradeep has pioneered use of customizable dashboard technologies to enable the bank to better monitor and administer automated controls. Pradeep has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Ohio State University.
Andrew Simpson is the Chief Operating Officer, CaseWare RCM Inc., formerly SymSure
Ltd. Previously Andrew held the role of CEO and founded SymSure Ltd, prior to its
acquisition by CaseWare IDEA Inc.
He has over 16 years of experience in the information systems audit and security business;
specifically data analytics, interrogation and forensics. The continuous monitoring
framework at the center of CaseWare RCM solutions is significantly based on his extensive
experience in the field.
He is also the Chairman of Symptai Consulting, an 11 year-old IT audit and security
consulting firm with over 150 clients. Andrew previously worked with Ernst & Young as an IT
Security Specialist.
Andrew has a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of the West
Indies and earned his MBA in Banking and Finance at the University of Wales and
Manchester Business School.
Ben Cagle - Executive Vice President, Sales, Marketing & Corporate Development
Ben Cagle is a recognized leader with a successful track record in defining and executing growth strategies for technology organizations and solutions.
Prior to joining Oversight, Cagle served as senior vice president, U.S. Operations, Enterprise Strategy and Marketing, for PRG-Schultz. In addition to his operations and strategy roles at PRG, Cagle also led new product/service-line development and was instrumental in the company’s participation in the Medicare RAC (Recovery Audit Contractor) Program. Cagle also served as Managing Principal, Client Acquisition, for the Zyman Group, a high-value growth strategy and strategic marketing consulting firm, where he led all growth and go-to-market initiatives.
His professional services experience also includes leadership positions with Computer Sciences Corporation, where he served as partner in its Consulting Group. In addition to developing and leading strategy, process improvement, IT, organizational development and outsourcing consulting engagement for Global 500 clients and venture capital-backed “start-ups,” he was also accountable for the Consulting Group’s initiatives in marketing, solution development, Client Advisory Board, and its executive exchange/thought leadership program.
Cagle transitioned into professional services with EDS as executive director/practice leader, where he developed, led and executed growth, sales and operational practices in the areas of IT outsourcing, business process outsourcing, and strategy/operations/IT consulting.
He began his career with Abitibi-Consolidated, where he served as vice president and general manager. In this capacity, Cagle had accountability for strategy, operations, sales, marketing, product development and client relations.
Joseph Nocera is a Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Joe brings 14 years of Security & Risk Management experience ranging from IT auditing to security systems implementation. Joe leads PwC's Information Security, IT Risk Management and IT Governance practices for the Midwest. Joe's clients include 3 of the Top 5 Health Insurers, 5 of the Top 10 Banks, 5 of the largest Insurers in the US, 2 of the largest retailers in the US and one of the largest software companies in the world.
Joe has significant experience in assisting organizations meet regulatory demands such as Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, HiTech, and various regulations. Joe has assisted organizations in building information security departments, information risk management functions and overall IT governance functions. Joe has also led the implementation of a variety of IT control solutions ranging from Automated Controls Monitoring, Balancing, Identity and Access Management and Data Loss prevention.
